We were about to book a trip to Oahu when we were invited to vacation in Myrtle Beach with my husband’s family (great people!) instead. We were both pretty set on Hawaii, but seeing family is always good (we only see them every few years). What is there to do in Myrtle Beach? Help convince us this is where we should go with our 2 kiddos (4years and 1yo)
Hawaii isn’t going anywhere, it will still be there next time. Flying there with 2 little kids would be a nightmare. The kids won’t be able to tell the difference. Family need to see the kids. The more people who care about your kids, the better their vacation will be. Always someone to play with.

the only thing that convinces me that you should stay "state-side" is that you have 2 toddlers. Wait until they are a little older to take them to Hawaii…. first of all, it’s a long plane ride and 2nd, they won’t appreciate it yet. Myrtle beach is beautiful and fun and sice you only see the family every few years, you should go there this year. My youngest grandson was 6 when he first went to Hawaii and absolutely loved it and understood the history, geography, wanted to learn some Hawaiin words, etc. Right now, your kids are too young to do things like climg volcanoes and hike to waterfalls, which are so fun as a family. Your family will love vacationing with your kids right now. Go for it!

If the kids were older I would say go to Hawaii, but being 4 and 1 Myrtle Beach has so much to offer. I’ve been there 3 times and you see the number "3" it means I keep going back. They have endless putt-putting, the beaches are great for kids to play and the waves aren’t too high. Great shopping! There is broadway at the beach that has tons to offer. They opened their Hard Rock Theme park up last year. You can visit there website but I would definitely say do MB.

I have to say I agree with everyone else. If the kids were older Hawaii would be awesome. But the plane ride, volcanoes, and all…I think Myrtle beach would be a safer bet.
1. You get to spend time with the family which is always wonderful.
2. MB has a lot of great attractions. Dixie Stampede, Medieval times, Alabama Theater, Carolina Opry, The pavilion (whats left of it are a couple of kiddie rides), Magi Quest, Ripley’s Aquarium, Ripley’s Museum Nascar go karts, Hard Rock Park, Put Put everywhere…and so much more. That’s not including the beach!
When my husband and I went we lived on Barefoot’ss landing and Broadway. If you can get there you don’t have to leave to stay in the room you can just enjoy it.
