My mother in law suggested to us she would watch the kids early summer time so me and the wife could finally go on a vacation together. We are thing Hawaii but was wondering if there are any places that do like all inclusive packages ???

Thanks in advance,

David

yes many and also check Pleasant Holidays. Do NOT spend your whole time in Waikiki. If you come to Oahu, rent a car and get out and see the island.

This is video I shot while going across Hawaii landscape on a Zip Line in first person. I also filmed someone zipping. You can read more about things to do in Hawaii at http://www.frommyexperience.com/take-a-hawaii-vacation.php

Would really like some information on Hawaii. Things like places to stay, where to eat, what to do, best time of year to visit and places to see.

That’s a big question, and depends on a lot of things…kids? alone? couple? group? budget?

That said, here’s what our family and friends do before they come to visit. We built a web page with the best links and things to do in Hawaii, rated and reviewed. That way they could look BEFORE they got here and see what they want to do. Our 4-star rated items may be a good place to start for those "don’t miss" things.

The page is at http://home.hawaii.rr.com/gonebananas. Could go into a lengthy answer here, but with all the work we put into that page, well, you’ll see…it will answer your questions.

Aloha
HonoluluDog

Have been over there twice ( i live in australia ) and i went to the majority of islands with my parents.
I did the snuba at maui and went to all the outlet stores in honolulu and did that big walk up diamond head?hill?mountain? lol and various other things. But i’m going back this year with my boyfriend and we’re 19 & 20 so i was wondering if there was anything you would recommend doing over there for ppl our age? Is there a theme park or water park?
Thanks in advance :)
oh forgot to mention we did the volcano tour, the submarine tour off waikiki beach and went to pearl harbour aswell.

See the real Hawai’i. Go to the big island down to Captain Cook. Hang with the kayak renters for a day or two and make connections. Get invited to native village for glimpses of real island life. Let them tell you about the police kidnapping their aunt as a child and deporting her to die on Molokai (she had leprosy). Meet the people on the southwestern corner who have uncles who are sharks (and they fish together!) introduce you. Go to the grasslands and talk to the hunters. Sometimes they will show you old Manini settlements (which are hidden from Big People). Climb down some holes that nobody else goes into and find your own crystalline miracles. Hike down (illegally) to the lava flow and throw some sticks in it (watch out for the explosions). Mail lava rock souveniers to your enemies (curse comes free from Pele). The Big Island still is Hawaiian, not Californianized. Remember, Hawai’i is a conquered land, the Super Ferry is a large scale troop transport to quell the coming rebellion, and the people still remember when they were imprisoned and killed for speaking their native language or dancing the hula or following their religion. They need your support and the support of all the world to win freedom from the tyrannical Americans. Enjoy reality. Free Hawai’i !!!

Talofa, everyone. Let’s get outdoors and have some fun! Here I am Downtown again, supporting a good cause. This time Alaska celebrates our neighbors from the far South during the ADP (Anchorage Downtown Project) Hawaii Day Celebration (Hawaii Statehood Celebration). There is music and dance during these non-profit celebrations. See hot island girls dancing and guys with flaming batons. I found out later that the party usually runs from 1:00pm – 3:00pm in Peratrovich Park in Downtown Anchorage, if you’re lucky enough to catch it. I was fortunate to be walking by at the right time with enough room in my camera to capture some of the action.

Thanks for letting me tape this. Sorry about the shaky video. Next time I’ll bring my tripod!

Itinerary:
1 – 1:20 p.m. — Ke KiaI A O Hula (Traditional Hawaiian Dance)
1:20 – 2:45 p.m. Hula Hui Na Haumana O Alaka (Polynesian Dance Troupe)
2:45 – 3:30 p.m. — Tupulaga (Youth Dance Group)

Well were going to hawaii in the spring, and im wondering if the helicopter rides are worth it, and is there any activies i must do lol? i kinda wanna go to one of those cultural dance things… but yeah gimme some info on activities youve done there. and suggest for me. im staying at marriot on wakiki beach.

Go on line to honoluluadvertiser.com and checked out their TGIF section — also HonoluluWeekly.com, and also WardCenters.com, plenty to do, Polynesian Cultural Center for immersion in Culture – - – Aim for visiting at the start of the month and check out ‘First Friday’ downtown, and then go windward side the next Saturday for ‘First Saturday’ in Kailua. Naturally the Beach, and if you want adventure then make a tour of beaches — Ala Moana for swimming, Kailua for Windsurfing, North Shore for Surfing.

Helicopter tours can be entertaining by pricey. Try hang gliding on The North Shore.

Peace…

My girlfriend and I are flying over to Hilo from Oahu for 2 and a half days, to go see and check out the lava tubes. Aside from the volcano site seeing, what are other things we can do in Hilo? Are there any good places to eat or just chill?

You two can check out the Mokupapapa Discovery Center.

As for restaurants, here are some:
-Hilo Bay Cafe
-Ken’s House of Pancakes
-Hilo Homemade Ice Cream
-Pahoa Lounge
-Uncle Billy’s Fish & Steak House

The Big Island gets snow, so maybe you can try snowboarding. *shrug* But if you are trying to get away from the cold, go to the beach, take a tour around the island, etc.

We are going to Hawaii in October for our honeymoon, and we want to do things that are fun and memorable without all the crowds. Also, we’re on a budget. I know that the middle of October is when they have their "aloha festivals", and if anyone has more information on that I would appreciate it. Thanks. :)

Good choice picking Kona and the Big Island. They are definitely the road less traveled (so to speak).

A day trip to Volcanoes National Park is well worth doing. It’s a few hours drive and can be cold up there so some people don’t bother. On the way there, visit the green sand beach (there are only two in the world) and a black sand beach. You can find directions in the Big Island guide book (part of the "Revealed" series). These guidebooks are written by locals and are the best of the bunch.

While you’re driving to Volcano’s: tune your radio to KAPA FM for some great local music. The local call-ins are also really fun to hear. Also check the Nat’l Park website (see link below) to see if the lava is flowing where you can see it.

Also on the way to Volcano’s is the southernmost point of the U.S. All of Kona is black lava rock, but in some places there are all these smaller white rocks. People use them to spell out words, so, think of what you want to spell "Our Hawai’i Honeymoon" (for example) and take a photo to kick off your photo slideshow when you get home.

The Seahorse Farm is a fun stop (even thought it’s a tourist attraction). You can see a pregnant male and find out what it feels like to have a seahorse wrap its tail around your finger.

Something else I’d highly HIGHLY recommend is either scuba dive or snorkel with the manta rays. It’s on the list of 100 things to do before you die and something that will make your trip really memorable. Jack’s Diving Locker is a great operation (that’s who I went with) and they offer either snorkel or diving experiences. There’s a hot shower on the boat too which you’ll really appreciate.

The Coffee Shack is a great breakfast or lunch spot. It’s quaint and not expensive. The balcony seating overlooks the Kona Coast and offers a casual, but incredibly scenic, dining experience.

Aloha Angels is another good breakfast spot. Got a great community vibe, not touristy at all, just a local cafe.

I’ve heard the Kona Brewery Tour is fun but haven’t done it myself.

Sorry I wasn’t able to find any info for you on the aloha festivals.

Have a great trip!
