I’m planning a trip in late march for 12 days. i like snorkeling and nature related activities. Not really the party till morning type.
If you are going to The Big Island, take the helicopter ride over the volcano. It is expensive but well worth it. Also, if you really like the water and heights, go parasailing. Again, if you like the water and don’t know how to surf, take personal surfing lessons. Tons of fun. And, you must go to a Luau.
Hubby and I are going on a second (first really) honeymoon in March. Where should we go for great snorkeling and surfing. We don’t care about food, drinking, or nightlife. (As odd as that sounds…) Just fun outdoor activities. We’ve been to Hawaii at Hanauma Bay, and that was cool. And Belieze. We are looking for something similar. (Not SCUBA, just snorkel.)
Definitely Samoa!
Its perfect!!!!
Its got amazing snorkling and good surfing!!
You really could go anywhere in the pacific! I have been to heaps and I have to say Samoa was my favorite!!
Its not as touristy as somewhere like Raratonga of Fiji
It has some of the nicest people in the world!
Plus it has plenty of things to do! Such as the waterfalls slides!!!! They are natural waterfalls in a beautiful jungle which are very smooth so you just slide down them! And the best bit? we spent nearly a whole day there and didn’t see one other person =]
Also you can stay the night in traditional Fales! they are samoan huts with no walls which are on the golden beach side! They are beautiful! You can go to sleep to the sound of gentle waves! plus they are rreeeaallly cheap!! But if you prefer a resort then aggie greys or the coconut beach resort!! Both really good and clean!
Its sooooo relaxing!!!!! You will be dragging your feet in your flip flops just like the locals in no time!!
=]
This is a mix of video from my first time ever snorkeling, and it happen to be in the waters of Hawaii! You can see a sea turtle towards the end. You can also see the state fish of Hawaii; Humuhumukununukuapua’a and yes thats how its spelled but you wont catch me saying it in the video!

Thinking about hawaii, and wanting to know which island has the best night life, and also the most things to do, such as scuba diving, snorkeling… things like that. Thanks
Nightlife– Without a doubt it would be Oahu in the Waikiki area. However, outside of that it is not all that great of a place.
However, to get a good mix of nightlife and snorkeling I would go with the West Coast of Maui in the Lahaina Area. They have it all over there. Great beaches, nightlife, incredible snorkling in the area, and great mountains.
I am planning to do snorkerling in Hawaii beach. I am not good at swim. Will it be safe for me to do snorkerling?
yeah just where a life jacket and it will still be well worth it. plus you can see tons of stuff with out getting in deep water. I am a good swimmer but I couldn’t go under water with my snorkel with out swallowing water anyways. But maybe I’m just dumb! Anyways I put on a life jacket and loved it all the same. As long as you aren’t scared of being in the water you’ll enjoy it.
So overall, which one has the clearer beaches? I want to go to a peaceful, quite, clear blue beach with lots of WATER ACTIVITIES around you! Such as snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing, etc.
Would cancun or hawaii be better for this?
Since I have been to Cancun and Hawaii , I would have to say Hawaii , Maui to be more specific , you will have a blast !!!
Enjoy !!
I’m a guy, not a lady. I plan to wear a sarong, a t-shirt and kukui nut necklace my entire visit with board shorts underneath for hitting the waves, with Teva sandals?
What do you do with your sandals while you’re snorkeling? Where do you get those surf shoes that you can wear with your swim fins and avoid burning your feet?
Guys wear sarongs in Hawaii too. You might want to leave the Tevas in the car or room. Get a cheap pair of rubber slippers to go to the beach if you plan on leaving them to go snorkeling. Any ABC store or grocery store sells them. Longs Drugs…WalMart, etc…
Buy surf shoes at any store that sells snorkeling/scuba gear…Sports Authority has them. Lot of surfs shops carry it.
Keep safe and have a fun trip!
