I’m going to Kona for only 1 day. What should I see?
Of course the volcano, but if you are in Kona for one day only, the volcano is too far. so i would recommend you to go to Kealakekua Bay (it is a great place for snorkeling or picnic).
I went to Kona, Hawaii to be the keynote speaker at the Big Island Visitors Bureau luncheon. But I stayed at the Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort & Spa and the The Four Seasons Resort Hualālai

I would like to leave Kona on Monday or Tuesday October 22-23 and arrive in Cabo before Saturday the 28. Cheap flights or a cruise?
Fly from Kona to LAX, LAX to Cabo. American does the first leg, Alaska does the second.

My family will be travelling to Kona, Hawaii in November and we were wondering how to have a good time, but not spend a bundle. We are prepared to spend some money, but we want to avoid some of the expensive tourist traps. We enjoy beaches, swap meets, sightseeing mountains and parks. We already have a resort booked and it does have have kitchen facilities, so we can buy food and cook on some nights too. We don’t mind dining in some reasonably priced restaurants with good food either, just not every night.
Best restaurant: Sam Choy’s
Cheap spots: Volcano National park, any beach.
Snorkeling: Magic sands beach (you will swim with sea turtles and HUGE Trigger fish).
Note: Kona has the best scuba diving sites in Hawaii
Tip: when you go to pay for anything, say, you want the "Kia-mana Rate" usually if you can pronounce it, they think you are a local, and you will get a BIG discount.
