To which Island in Hawaii should we go ?

Hi,
I’m going with 3 friends to Hawaii, but we don’t know to which island should we go !
I checked a lot of places and hotels ( hotel+flight)
We are going there on Spring Break 2010.
We are looking for Snorkeling and swimming in a quiet ocean blue water ! and we are going to stay for 5 days and we are looking for a package no more than 1000. I got a few gd deals!

Go to the Big Island and visit the volcanoes!

Hawaii or all inclusive carribean vacation?

me and my wife (mid-20s) looking to travel for two weeks in january somewhere. not looking to relax the whole time , and def wanna do lots if active stuff like canopy tours, seeing waterfalls, atv tours, and lots of snorkeling and so much more also. but both these places have all of this and ive priced both places , and not far from each other on price either. safety still not to sure on both places cause ive heard that hawaiians dont like mainlanders, and jamaica is not the safest place . so where in the carribean should we go? which all inclusive resort? or stick with hawaii? looking to spend about 4-5k on flight , hotel and car, and about 2k on spending money(food, gift shopping, and excursions). thanks for the help in advanced

I’ve been to both and I’d say to go to Hawaii. Anyone that has the cash to go there should go at least once in their lifetime! I recommend Maui for at least a week, then figure out someplace else. Maybe Oahu so you can see Waikiki, and rent a car to drive to the beautiful North Shore.
Oh and research the weather for January too, that might factor into your decision.

What fun things are there to do in Honolulu on Oahu, Hawaii?

My husband and I are going to go to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Resort and Spa for a week in Honolulu and were wondering if anyone had any suggestions of restaurants, snorkeling places, ropes courses, fun beaches, etc for us to do without going broke. Any suggestions? Thank you!

There’s actually four sections of Oahu (going by shores):
-North Shore
-South Shore
-East Shore
-West Shore

(This has nothing to do with my answer, I just wanted to correct the third poster).

Anywhoo, you can buy an entertainment book, which is FILLED with coupons for everything you can imagine. Yes, you gotta pay for it but it’s worth it.

After buying that, you can do whatever you want without going broke. I highly suggest you and your husband head out to Ku’aloa Ranch to horseback ride, go ATV’ing, kyaking, etc. It’s a lot of fun.

Where is the best place in Hawaii to stay?

I want a beautiful place near the beach; where I could go snorkeling or something like that. I’d like to see lots of tropical fish, palm trees, and things like that. Please help me!
Also, if the place is budget friendly, that would be great too.

Kaanapali, Maui, is awesome. Everything is right there: beautiful, calm, family-friendly beaches, snorkeling, tons of hotels for all budgets, shopping in the Whaler’s shopping center and close by in Lahaina, and a great relaxed atmosphere. It’s best for families, so if you want something romantic it probably isn’t the best place. But I highly recommend it, I’ve been several times and it’s always a super fun time.

Where is the best part of Hawaii for nature and wilderness, away from the expensive tourist spots?

I am looking for excursions with local guides, snorkelling, nature photography and stays in small inexpensive hostels.

For inexpensive hostels, try the Banana bungalow in Wailuku, Maui. They have free tours every day, but it’s not an inconvenient base camp for excursions made by your own arrangements.

For something a little bit further down the Road to Hana, YMCA Camp Keanae.

Molokai has what you want to see, but more limited accomodations–none in the budget range. They’re not keen on making it easier for tourists.
